Description

For sample adults 18+ who reported speaking a language other than English at home (LANGHOMEOT), LANGDOC reports which language respondents used most often when seeing a doctor or other health care professional. Only "English" or "Other language" are specified as non-missing values.

Questions about language other than English at home were added as emerging content in the second quarter of the 2023 NHIS. Users should adjust sampling weights to account for partial availability. For guidance on adjusting weights, please see the sampling weights user note.
