Description
For sample persons ages 18 and older who have at least two other biological parents of the person's child(ren) who have been diagnosed by a doctor with cancer and reported a valid cancer code for the second other parent with known cancer, OP2CAN2 reports whether that other parent was ever diagnosed with any other type of cancer by a doctor.
Versions of this variable are available for up to three other biological parents of the person's children. Please use the drop down menu and search function for related variables.
Universe
- 1987: Half of sample persons age 18+ (excluded from CACT supplement) who have at least 1 child (or an unknown number of children), for whom the other parent (of any of respondent's children) had cancer, for whom the first other parent mentioned was not the parent of all respondent's children, and for whom the second other parent mentioned was ever diagnosed with cancer and had a valid cancer code.
