Description

For sample children under 6 years old (in 1991-1993 and 1944-1996) or under 7 years old (in 1997-2003) who have ever had shots but do not have a shot record, IMNDTP reports if the person has ever received a shot for DTP.

DTP shots are sometimes called diphtheria-tetanus-pertussis shots, baby shots, or three-in-one-shots.

Comparability

Changes in the universe limit the comparability of this variable. As always, users are advised to use the appropriate weight for their analyses.

Universe

  • 1991-1993: Sample persons under age 6 with no available shot record who ever received an immunization.
  • 1994-1996: Sample persons under age 6 and all persons 19-35 months old, with no available shot record who ever received an immunization.
  • 1997: Sample children under age 7 and all children 19-35 months old in quarters 1 and 2 and 12-35 months old in quarters 3 and 4 who have had shots but who have no known shot record.
  • 1998-2002: Sample children under age 7 and all children 12-35 months old who have had shots but have no known shot record.
  • 2003: Sample children under age 7 who have had shots but have no known shot record.
