Description
For persons with Part B Medicare (which pays for medical coverage) or for whom it is unknown if they have Part B, MCARCOM reports whether the person would be interested in paying an additional monthly or yearly premium for a more comprehensive Medicare plan.
In 2010, MCARCOM (and MCAREHMOTYP) were discontinued and two new variables, MCARADVPREM and MCARADVTYP were added to the data.
MCARADVPREM reports if persons enrolled in a Medicare Advantage or Medicare HMO plan pay a premium.
MCARADVTYP reports if persons report having a Medicare Advantage or Medicare HMO plan are in that type of plan or in a Medicare supplemental plan.
