Description
For sample adults aged 65 and over who have had a routine check-up, MDTIAASK reports whether, during the last check-up, a doctor asked the respondent about the symptoms of a transient ischemic attack (TIA). TIA is an episode of weakness or paralysis in the arms and legs, loss of vision, speech, or memory, and facial droop that lasted for less than 24 hours.
MDTIAASK is one of a series of variables dealing with doctor advice. For related variables, please use the IPUMS NHIS search function and drop-down menus.
