Description
For sample persons who received eye care at least ONCE in the past year, EYEC1SPEC is a recoded variable that reports the type of health professional for the last eye care visit.
This variable is based on the responses to EYEC1HP, which reports the type of health professional the person saw for her/his last eye care visit (ophthalmologists, optometrists, opticians, and others), and EYEC1MD, which specifies whether any "other" health professional the sample person saw was a medical doctor.
