Description
For sample persons ages 18 and older who were employed in the last two weeks, and who reported to be exposed to at least three work conditions that could endanger her/his own health, WEXCOND3HEL2 reports the second type of health effect for the third reported condition. See the Codes tab for response options. Persons could report up to six such conditions, and for each condition, they could report up to four ways their own health could be endangered as a result of it.
This variable was introduced in 1985 as part of a series of variables on occupational safety and health. For related variables, please use the IPUMS NHIS search function and drop-down menus.
Universe
- 1985: Sample persons age 18+ who were employed in the past 2 weeks, who are exposed to any work conditions that could endanger health, who mentioned at least three dangerous working conditions or for whom the dangerous conditions were unknown, and who mentioned one way in which the dangerous conditions affect health or for whom the first health effect was unknown.
