Description
For sample respondents age 18 and over who have worked in the past 2 weeks for a private company or the federal, state, or local government, worked mainly indoors and whose employer has an official policy to restrict smoking, and who work where smoking is not allowed in immediate work area, SMOKCUSTAREA indicates if customers or clients were ever allowed in the respondent's work area.
Related Variables
As a follow up to SMOKCUSTAREA, respondents were asked, SMOKCUST, if customers were allowed to smoke in the respondent's work area.
Universe
- 1992: Half of sample persons age 18+ in quarters 1 and 2, and in 2 weeks of quarter 3 (excluded from CAEP supplement) who have a job with a private company or the federal, state or local government, who were employed during the past two weeks, who work in an indoor area (or whose work area type was unknown), whose employer has an official policy to restrict smoking, and who work where smoking is not allowed in immediate work area (or for whom it was unknown if smoking was allowed in the immediate work area).
