For sample respondents age 18 and over who have worked in the past 2 weeks for a private company or the federal, state, or local government, worked mainly indoors and whose employer has an official policy to restrict smoking, and who work where smoking is not allowed in immediate work area, SMOKCUST indicates if customers or clients were ever allowed to smoke in the respondent's work area.
The question for this variable is a follow-up to SMOKCUSTAREA, if customers were allowed in the respondent's work area.
