For sample persons ages 18 and over who had abdominal pain 3 or more times in the past 12 months, and did not report a non-digestive condition as the cause of such pain, ABPANSTOPACT indicates if, when the pain caused by the condition identified in ABPSELCON starts, the person must stop what she or he is doing because it hurts.

This supplement focuses on digestive conditions, primarily during the previous 12 months, to provide data for prevalence estimates on certain common digestive disorders and complaints. The Abdominal Pain section provides data to compare diagnosed and undiagnosed irritable bowel syndrome, and to describe pain accompanying this or other conditions that affect the abdomen.
