For persons age 15 and older, WSLRELDEN indicates whether the person missed any time from work or school assisting a relative or friend with a dental problem or dental visit during the past two weeks.

The amount of time that the person missed from work or school is recorded in WSLRELDENTIM. WSLRELDEN was introduced in 1989 as part of a series of variables used to determine whether an illness or injury has caused persons to restrict their usual activities during the two-week reference period.
