Description
For all persons, INCFAMR82ON is a recoded variable presenting total grouped family income from 1982 to 2006. Responses are reported in nominal dollars and have not been adjusted for inflation.
See the drop down menu for additional related variables.
Comparability
Income groups were consistent from 1982 to 1996 and from 1997 to 2006. The change that occurred between 1996 and 1997 included reducing the number of income subdivisions and adding new income subdivisions between $45,000 and $75,000. In addition, $75,000 became the new top code value.
