Description

In 1973 only, for children who did not have a routine physical in the past 12 months (CHECKUP), PHYSICALYRS reports the response to the follow-up question, "How long has it been since [person] was taken to a doctor for a routine physical examination or general checkup?"

Comparability

This variable is only available in 1973.

Universe

  • 1973: Persons under age 17.
  • 1982: Persons under age 17.
  • 1991: Sample persons age 18+.
  • 1993: Half of sample persons age 18+ in quarters 3 and 4 (excluded from AIDS supplement)
  • 1994: Half of sample persons age 18+ (excluded from AIDS supplement)
  • 1995: Half of sample persons age 18+ (excluded from AIDS supplement) whose response was not "blank" or a double entry.
  • 1998: Sample adults age 18+.
