Description
For sample persons age 18 years and older who were not employed in the past 2 weeks (EMPSTAT) and whose job requires a great deal or a moderate amount of hard physical work (PHYSACTWRK), PHYSACTMAHR reports the number of hours per day they performed hard physical work on their job.
The field representative's manual states that "Hard Physical Work" as respondent defined. It also states that "if you are aware that the person has multiple jobs, or are questioned as to which job you are referring...refer to the job reported in question 6 of the Demographic Background Page".

- 1985; 1990: Sample persons age 18+ who were employed in the past 2 weeks and who do a great deal or a moderate amount of hard physical work on their job.
