Description
For sample persons age 18 years and older who were not employed in the past 2 weeks (EMPSTAT), PHYSACTWRK reports the amount of hard physical work is required at the sample person's job. Possible responses include "Great deal", "Moderate amount", "A little", and "None".
Sample persons who responded either "Great deal" or "Moderate amount" in PHYSACTWRK were asked how many days they performed hard physical work at their job (PHYSACTWRKHR).
The field representative's manual states that "Hard Physical Work" as respondent defined. It also states that "if you are aware that the person has multiple jobs, or are questioned as to which job you are referring...refer to the job reported in question 6 of the Demographic Background Page".
