Description

For sample adults, LUNMEAYR is a recoded variable that reports how many times per year the person consumed ham or lunch meat. This includes hams that are "baked, boiled, pressed, smoked or fresh, sliced as deli meat, or as a roast or as ham steak" and "all deli-type sandwich meats like bologna, salami, pastrami, corned beef, roast beef, etc." This recoded variable is based on the responses to LUNMEANO, which reports the frequency with which the person ate ham or lunch meat and LUNMEATP, which reports the corresponding time unit. In 2010, the variable PROCMEATMNO was introduced, which reports how many times the person ate processed meats, such as bacon, lunch meat, or hot dogs.

Comparability
