Description

For sample children under 6 years old (in 1992-1996) or under 7 years old (in 1997-2003) who have ever had shots but do not have a shot record and who reported that they have had the DTP shot, IMNDTPNO reports the number of DTP shots that the person has ever received.

DTP shots are sometimes called diphtheria-tetanus-pertussis shots, baby shots, or three-in-one-shots.

Comparability

Changes in the universe limit the comparability of this variable. As always, users are advised to use the appropriate weight for their analyses.

Universe

  • 1992-1993: Sample persons under age 6 with no available shot record who ever received an immunization and ever received a DTP shot.
  • 1994-1996: Sample persons under age 6 and all persons 19-35 months, with no available shot record who ever received an immunization and ever received a DTP shot.
  • 1997: Sample children under age 7 and all children age 19-35 months old in quarters 1 and 2 and age 12-35 months old in quarters 3 and 4 with no known shot record but who ever had a DTP shot.
  • 1998-2002: Sample children under age 7 and all children age 12-35 months old with no known shot record but who have ever had a DTP shot.
  • 2003: Sample children under age 7 with no known shot record but who have ever had a DTP shot.
