For sample persons age 20 and older in the second half of 1975, EXOTHEREG indicates whether the respondent participated in other exercise on a regular basis.

For quarters 3 and 4 of 1975, the NHIS included questions related to physical activity. According to the survey form, "the U.S. Public Health Service would like to know how many adults participate in some exercise, or in one or more popular sports." In addition to being questioned about partipication in other exercise, respondents were asked if they did any of six other exercises on a regular basis.

Comparability

There were no comparability problems for EXOTHEREG.
