Description

DISEEF indicates whether the respondent was blind or had serious difficulty seeing even when wearing glasses.

There are six disability questions in the test file that comprised one component of a larger testing effort to develop and adopt a standard set of disability questions to be used with multiple surveys across multiple countries. For more information, please refer to the User Note for disability.

There are no comparability issues.

Universe

  • 2008: One half of persons age 1 or older in quarter 4 (who received the family-style disability questions).
  • 2009: One half of persons age 1 or older (who received the family-style disability questions).
