Description
For sample adults who were ever diagnosed with cancer in the past 10 years, CANWORK indicates if the person was working at a job or business immediately before the cancer diagnosis.
CANWORK was first introduced as part of the 1992 Cancer Supplement. For related variables, please use the IPUMS NHIS search function and drop-down menus.
Universe
- 1992: Sample persons age 18+ in quarters 1 and 2 and in 2 weeks of quarter 3 who were ever diagnosed with one kind of cancer and were diagnosed in the past 10 years OR who were diagnosed with more than one kind of cancer and most recent cancer was diagnosed in the past 10 years.
