Description

For sample adults over age 40 who have had a blood stool test in the past 3 years, because of a health problem, BSTYLBT reports a reason for last blood stool test (unspecified type) was bowel trouble. Respondents could report more than one reason, including the following other reasons:

hemorrhoids, BSTYLHEM

pain, BSTYLPAIN

constipation, BSTYLCON

bleeding, BSTYLBLD

blood in the stool, BSTYLBS

ulcers, BSTYLULC

an unrelated medical problem, BSTYLUNMD

Universe

1987: Half of sample persons age 40+ (excluded from CAEP supplement) who have heard of blood stool test and have had a blood stool test in the past 3 years because of a health problem.
1992: Half of sample persons persons age 40+ in quarters 1 and 2, and first 2 weeks of quarter 3 (excluded from CAEP supplement) who have heard of blood stool test and have had a blood stool test in the past 3 years because of a specific health problem.
