Description

ALCSTATSELF reports if the person considers herself or himself to be a very light or occasional, light, moderate or heavy drinker, abstainer, or has quit drinking.

In 1983, this question was asked of sample persons ages 18 and over who have had twelve drinks in any year and at least one drink in the last two year. In 1988, this question was asked of sample persons ages 18 and over who have had twelve drinks in the past year and at least one drink in the last two weeks.

Comparability
