Description

For sample persons age 18 and older AIDEDTVGEN indicates if, in the past month, the person received information about AIDS from television.

Comparability

The response categories for this variable changed slightly over time. In 1990, the response category was "television". In 1991 and 1992, the response category was "television programs".

Changes in survey design (e.g., quarters in which the supplement was collected) may affect raw frequencies, but do not affect comparability of the variable. As always, data users should use the prescribed IHIS weights.
