Description

For persons sample persons age 17 and older in 1974 who consider themselves overweight and sample persons age 18 and older in 1985 and 1990, WTDIETING reports if the person is now trying to lose weight.

Comparability

The 1974 question was asked of sample persons 17 and older who consider themselves overweight. In subsequent samples, all sample adults ages 18 and over were asked this question. This change in universe significantly limits comparability between samples.
