Description
For sample persons aged 18 and older who were employed in the past 1-2 week(s), who worked for a private company or for the federal, state, or local government, who worked at a location or facility that had more than 50 employees, and whose employer made exercise programs available, WEPFCLUBUS reports if the person participated in any exercise programs at work such as FULLY paid membership in a health or fitness club in the past year.

Comparability
A slight change in universe between 1994 and 1998 samples may affect comparability between samples. Changes in survey design (e.g., quarters in which the supplement was collected) may affect raw frequencies, but do not affect comparability of the variable. As always, data users should use the prescribed IPUMS NHIS weights.
Universe
- 1994: Half of sample persons age 18+ (excluded from AIDS supplement) who were employed in the past 2 weeks for a private company or for federal, state, or local government, who worked at a location or facility that had 50+ employees, and whose employer made exercise programs available.
- 1998: Sample adults age 18+ who were employed last week for a private company or for federal, state, or local government, who worked at a location or facility that had 50+ employees, and whose employer made exercise programs available.
