Description

For sample persons aged 18 and older who were employed in the past 2 weeks, who worked for a private company or for the federal, state, or local government, WEFNO reports the number of exercise facilities at work that were made available to the sample person by his/her employer.

Comparability

Changes in survey design (e.g., quarters in which the supplement was collected) may affect raw frequencies, but do not affect comparability of the variable. As always, data users should use the prescribed IPUMS NHIS weights.

Universe

  • 1991: Sample persons age 18+ who were employed in the past 2 weeks for a private company or for the federal, state, or local government.
  • 1993: Half of sample persons age 18+ in quarters 3 and 4 (excluded from AIDS supplement) who were employed in the past 2 weeks for a private company or for the federal, state, or local government.
