Description

For persons under age 18 who have hot water in their home, WATEMPTHERMCH reports whether anyone in the household used a thermometer to test the temperature of the hot water. The answer provided by the household sample adult was applied to the person record for any children under age 18 in the household; children's records should not be interpreted as meaning that the child tested the temperature of the hot water in their home.

WATEMPTHERMCH was part of the Health Prevention and Disease Promotion supplement periodically included in the NHIS which helped measure national goals towards the Healthy People Initiative of the U.S. Surgeon General.
