Description

For sample children ages 6 to 17 years who wear eyeglasses or contact lenses, this variable indicates whether children need the glasses or contacts "to read road and street signs, see the blackboard, play sports, watch TV, or see things in the distance."

This variable is included in the Sample Child Vision Supplement, sponsored by the National Eye Institute.
