Description

For sample persons aged 18 and over who had a usual source of medical care or had a place they went most often for care, TIMTOCAREMIN reports the usual travelling time to the place of care, in minutes.

Comparability

Changes in survey design (e.g., quarters in which the supplement was collected) may affect raw frequencies, but do not affect comparability of the variable. As always, data users should use the prescribed IHIS weights.

Universe

  • 1992: Half of sample persons age 18+ in quarters 1 and 2, and in 2 weeks of quarter 3 (excluded from CAEP supplement) who have a usual source of medical care OR do not have a usual source (or for whom it is unknown if they have a usual source of medical care) but who do have a place they go most often for care OR who have more than one usual source of care or whose usual source of care is not ascertained and do not have a place they go to most often or the place they go to most often is not ascertained, and whose reason for no usual source of care is that they have two or more doctors depending on problem, and who have a place they go to most often.
