Description
TELNONCEL indicates whether people in families who report a cellular phone number as their home phone number, or for whom it is unknown whether their home phone number is a cellular phone number, have at least one working phone inside the home that is not a cellular telephone.
For people in families with at least one working cellular telephone, and either who report a cellular phone number as their home phone number, or who report that it is unknown whether their home phone number is a cellular phone number, interviewers asked, "Is there at least one telephone inside your home that is currently working and is not a cellular telephone?"
Researchers may want to use TELNONCEL in conjunction with the following variables:
- Member of a family with a working cellular telephone (TELCEL)
- Number of working cell phones family has (TELCELNO)
Universe
- 2003-2006: All persons who report their home phone number as a cellular phone number, or for whom it is unknown whether their home phone number is a cellular phone number.
- 2007-2010: All persons in families who have a phone, or who didn't know or refused to report their phone number.
