Description

For sample children under age 18, STREPYR reports responses to the question, "During the past 12 months, has a doctor or other health professional told you that [sample child] had ... Strep throat or tonsillitis?"

The 2007 Field Representative's Manual defined tonsillitis as "acute inflammation of the tonsils, usually resulting from a bacterial or viral infection, including strep throat."

Also available for 2007, THROATSOREYR reports whether sample children had sore throat other than strep or tonsillitis during the past 12 months.
