Description
For children age 5-17 years, this variable indicates if the child's speech was difficult to understand due to a physical or mental health condition. Affirmative responses were then asked if the child's speech could "be understood at all" (SPEECHINTEL).
The term "difficult to understand" was respondent defined, as a definition was not provided to the respondent and not given in the Field Representative's Manual.
