Description
For respondents age 18 and over who reported they did not smoke now, (SMOKENOW =1), SMOKFREQ2 indicates responses to a follow-up question, "Do you now smoke cigarettes 'not at all' or 'some days'?"
Related Variables
SMOFREQ2 is used with SMOFREQ1, SMOKEV and SMOKENOW to report the recoded variables SMOKESTATUS1 and SMOKESTATUS2.
Universe
- 1991: Sample persons age 18+ who have ever smoked 100 cigarettes and do not currently smoke.
- 1992: Half of sample persons age 18+ in quarters 1 and 2 and in 2 weeks of quarter 3 (excluded from CAEP supplement) who have ever smoked 100 cigarettes and do not currently smoke.
