Description

For female persons ages 18 to 49 who gave live birth in the last five years, who currently smoke some days or not at all and have ever smoked every day, SMOKDALYGT1YPS reports whether the respondent last smoked cigarettes every day within the past year or more than 1 year ago.

Comparability

This variable is only available in 1991.

Universe

  • 1991: Sample females ages 18 to 49 who gave live birth in the last five years, ever smoked 100 cigarettes and currently smoke some days OR who currently smoke not at all but who ever smoked every day and reported last smoking cigarettes every day as 1 year or 12 months ago (or for whom it was unknown when they last smoked cigarettes).
