Description

For persons under age 18, SMOKALARNOCH1 reports the number of smoke detectors in the home. Both working and nonworking smoke detectors are counted. The answer provided by the household sample adult was applied to the person record for any children under age 18 in the household. This data is available with a different top code in SMOKALARNOCH2, which groups all responses at or above 10 smoke detectors.
