Description

For sample adults who ever had a skin cancer exam (SKNCANX), SKNXMLIFE reports the respondent's lifetime number of skin cancer exams.

 

If the respondent cannot provide an answer readily, the Field Representative's Manual for 1992 directs the interviewer to, "Ask for an approximate number. Accept responses in ranges if that is the best you can get." Further, the interviewer is instructed to mark, "Yes," if "The doctor checks only 1 or more parts of the body during a skin cancer exam and not the whold (sic) body."

Universe

  • 1992: Half of sample persons age 18+ in quarters 1 and 2, and in 2 weeks of quarter 3 (excluded from CAEP supplement) who ever had a skin cancer exam.
