Description

For sample persons ages 18 and older who have at least one full sibling (sharing both biological parents) or an unknown number of full siblings, SIBCAN reports whether any of the person's siblings have ever been diagnosed by a doctor as having cancer. Please use drop down menus for related variables.

There are no comparability issues with this variable.

Universe

  • 1987: Half of sample persons age 18+ (excluded from CACT) who have at least 1 sibling (or an unknown number of siblings).
