Description

For sample adults age 60, SENRSERVNOYR reports how many community services for the elderly the person used in the past 12 months. Persons were asked about their use of nine services: senior centers, special transportation for the elderly, home-delivery of meals, eating meals in a senior center or other special meal program for the elderly, homemaker services for the elderly, routine telephone calls to check on the health of the elderly, visiting nursing services, home health aides, and adult day care. Persons could answer "yes" to as many as applied.

SENRSERVNOYR was introduced in 1984 as part of a Study on Aging supplement. For related variables, please use the IPUMS NHIS search function or drop-down menus.
