Description
SEIZUREYR identifies sample children who had any seizures during the past 12 months. The question wording did not require the condition to be diagnosed by a doctor or other health professional.
Seizures were not defined in the survey documentation, but they were grouped with epilepsy in questions relating to conditions that limited an individual's activity. Seizures in children can also be caused by high fevers or metabolic disorders (such as abnormal blood levels of sugar or sodium).
In 2002 and 2007, SEIZUREV identifies sample adults who were ever told by a doctor or other health professional that they had seizures.
