Description
For sample adults with an available, knowledgeable sample proxy respondent (SAPROXYAVAIL), SAPROXYREL indicates the relationship of sample adult proxy to sample adult. Sample proxy respondents are used when the sample adult has a mental or physical condition that prevents them from responding for themselves.
Comparability
Starting in 2019, the responses ânon-relative living in householdâ and ânon-relative not living in householdâ were added. Additionally, âother caregiverâ and âotherâ were removed as responses.
