Codes and Frequencies
For sample adults, READNUTRIT indicates how often the respondent reads the nutritional information about calories, fat, and cholesterol sometimes listed on the label when buying a food for the first time.
READNUTRIT was first introduced as part of a 1991 supplement on Health Promotion and Disease Prevention. It was later included in a set of variables used to obtain baseline data on weight control and nutrition for the "Year 2000 Objectives". - 1991: Sample persons age 18+.
- 1993: Half of sample persons age 18+ in quarters 3 and 4 (excluded from AIDS supplement).
- 1995: Half of sample persons age 18+ (excluded from AIDS supplement).
