Description

For male sample adults aged 40 years or older who ever had a PSA test (PSAEV), PSA1AGEG reports the age interval when the respondent had their first PSA test.

 

The survey form from 2000 and 2005 directed interviewers to show respondent a flashcard with the following categories:

1. Under 40 years
2. 40-44
3. 45-49
4. 50-54
5. 55-59
6. 60-64
7. 65-69
8. 70 years or older

In 2000, 2005 and 2010, the survey form instructed interviewers to, "Read answer categories."

The survey layout document from 2000 noted that, "Analysts should note that a small number of men (n=15) reported an age interval greater than their current age."

Similarly, the survey layout document from 2005 noted that, "Analysts should note that this variable is not edited for reasonableness."
