Description

For sample adults and sample children, PREMEDYR reports whether the respondent used prescription medications in the past 12 months. In 2002, PREMEDYR was only asked of sample adults.

Comparability

Aside from universe changes, substantial questionnaire changes introduced in 2019 may affect comparability with earlier years. The NHIS questionnaire was substantially redesigned in 2019 to introduce a different data collection structure and new content.
