Description

For persons who reported at least one foot problem during the past 12 months, who still have the problem, and who considered getting, but did not actually get medical care for their foot problem during the past 12 months, PODTRNOCOST indicates whether the person reported, "costs too much" as a reason for not seeking treatment for his or her foot problem.

PODTRNOCOST was introduced in 1990 as part of the NHIS Podiatry Supplement. The purpose of this supplement is to obtain current data concerning problems with the feet, access to foot care, and the amount, frequency, and type of foot care obtained. For related variables and more information about this supplement, please use the IPUMS NHIS search function and drop-down menus.
