For persons with at least four reported foot problems during the past 12 months, PODPROB4NO indicates the number of time units of the duration of the person's fourth foot problem. This variable should be used in conjunction with PODPROB4TP, which indicates the corresponding time period.
PODPROB4NO is part of the NHIS Podiatry Supplement, introduced in 1990. The purpose of this supplement is to obtain current data concerning problems with the feet, access to foot care, and the amount, frequency, and type of foot care obtained.
