Description

For persons who reported having a deformity of the toe or joint including hammer toe, claw toe, and missing toes during the past 12 months, PODCTOEST indicates whether the person still has a toe or joint deformity, whether the problem has gone away, or whether the status of the problem is unknown.

PODCTOEST is part of the NHIS Podiatry Supplement, introduced in 1990. The purpose of this supplement is to obtain current data concerning problems with the feet, access to foot care, and the amount, frequency, and type of foot care obtained. For related variables and more information about this supplement, please use the IPUMS NHIS search function and drop-down menus.
