Description
For respondents age 18 and over who have ever smoked at least 50 cigars in their entire life (and those who currently smoked a pipe in 1992), this variable reports responses to the question, "On the average, how many days per month [do/did] you smoke a pipe?"
In 1987, the Field Representative's Manual noted that if questions arise, interviewers should include pipe tobacco only, and cigarette or cigars crumbled into pipes should not be counted.
