Description

For female sample adults age 18 and over who have had a Pap smear/Pap test (PAPEV), PAPAB reports whether the respondent has ever had a Pap smear test with results that were not normal.

Comparability

Other than a slight change in universe between 1987 and subsequent years, this variable is comparable over time.

Universe

  • 1987: Half of female sample persons age 18+ (excluded from CAEP supplement) who have ever heard of Pap smear test and have ever had a Pap smear.
  • 2000; 2005; 2008: Female sample adults age 18+ who ever had Pap smear test.
