Description

For sample persons ages 18 and over with a blood relative who was an alcoholic or problem drinker that did not live with them in their first 18 years, OTHBLRELALC indicates whether the person had a blood relative who was an alcoholic or problem drinker who did not live with them in their first 18 year OTHER THAN the person's biological mother, biological father, biological brother, biological sister, half-brother, half-sister, biological son, biological daughter, grandmother, grandfather, aunt, uncle, niece, nephew, or cousin.

This question is part of the 1988 Alcohol supplement. The person could report relationships for up to five problem drinkers he or she lived with and any additional blood relatives the person did not live with. Please use drop down menus for related variables.
