Description
For sample children under age 18, OTHALLERGYR reports responses to the question, "During the past 12 months, has [sample child] had ... Allergies other than hay fever, respiratory allergies, food or digestive allergies, or skin allergies?"
In 1997 forward, respondents were asked if the sample child had any of the following types of allergies during the past 12 months:
- Hay fever (HAYFEVERYR) (also asked of sample adults in 1997 forward)
- Respiratory allergies (RALLERGYR)
- Food allergies (FALLERGYR)
- Skin allergies (SALLERGYR)
In 2007 only, interviewers asked the question associated with OTHALLERGYR to ascertain whether, during the past 12 months, the sample child had any other allergies besides those previously mentioned.
